Ingrid Sylvester

Policy Advisor II

Ingrid Sylvester is a Policy Advisor II with IISD’s Resilience Program, supporting the Climate Adaptation and Protected Areas project. During her approximate 10 years of work, she has collaborated with individuals, private sector, universities, civil society, and governments on initiatives within Canada, the Eastern Caribbean, Honduras, and South Africa. She has an extensive background in ecosystem services, climate change resilience, and the management of protected areas, and marine, coastal, and terrestrial ecosystems.

Ingrid has experience in grant program development and administration in the areas of sustainable livelihoods/entrepreneurship and education and skills development. She is skilled in project management, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, research, capacity strengthening and communication, having worked as a senior project coordinator at Toronto Metropolitan University and a protected areas specialist with the OECS Protected Areas and Associated Livelihoods project in Saint Lucia.

Ingrid holds a master’s degree in integrated environmental studies from the University of Southampton, a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of the West Indies, and a certificate in sustainability management and enterprise process excellence.
